Fix a PDF a portal won't accept
Some PDFs are rejected even though their size is fine. Refentra can rebuild the PDF, flatten form fields, split it into parts or merge several files – on your device.

What you need this for
- A bank statement or PDF/A file that a tax portal reports as invalid.
- A long document that exceeds a page limit and must be split.
- Several PDFs that must be uploaded as one file.
How it works
- Drop the PDF and choose: regenerate, flatten, split, merge, reorder or crop pages.
- Check the preview of the pages.
- Download the new PDF and try the upload again.
All actions in this task
- Regenerate PDF
Rebuilds a rejected PDF page by page; text becomes image.
- Repair references
Fixes wrong internal references when a PDF is reported as damaged.
- Flatten form
Turns filled form fields into fixed page content.
- Merge or extract pages
Merges up to five PDFs or saves selected pages.
- Sort, rotate, delete, split pages
Page preview with drag, rotate, delete and split into several files.
- Crop page margins
Trims white margins or unwanted edges from pages.
- Add page numbers
Numbers every page for printing or submission.
- Protect with a password
Encrypts the PDF with AES-256; it can't be opened without the password.
- Redact and sanitise
Permanently covers areas; the result contains no hidden text.
- Watermark pages
Adds text or an image to all, even or odd pages.
- Fill form fields
Fills text and checkbox fields without a form app.
- Change title and author
Changes the document details shown in PDF viewers.
- PDF to images (JPG, PNG, WebP)
Saves pages as images, for forms that only accept photos.
Limits
- Regenerating turns pages into images: searchable text, links and digital signatures are lost.
- Password-protected files must be opened with the password first; Refentra does not remove protection.
Questions
When should I regenerate instead of compress?
When the size is fine but the portal still rejects the file, or reports it as damaged or invalid.
Will my signature survive?
No. Any rebuild breaks digital signatures. Upload signed documents unchanged if possible.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
